Science Sisters
Girl's Science Camp: April 17 -23
Science Sisters camp is a unique educational experience created for young women interested in science. This one week session, April 17 - 23, 2006 , is designed to accommodate students in grades 3 to 5 who share a common enthusiasm for science. Our goal is to improve their confidence, strengthen their skills, and have lots of fun while learning about science and possible science careers.
During this week, students will have fun while learning how science applies to their everyday life. Working alongside local women scientists, students will both participate in activities and pursue projects in areas such as geology, astronomy, physics, and both marine and stream biology. Students will gain an understanding of the possibilities for women in the field of science and gain confidence in themselves as scientists. Additionally, daily field trips will allow students to explore science all around them, as well as in the classrooms of two local colleges.
