2007 - 2008 School Year

HomeSchool Programs begin on September 20, 2007and end on May 15, 2008. Classes are offered for students in grades 1 - 3 and take place on the third Thursday of each month with the exception of December when class will be held on December 13, the second Thursday. Classes are held in the Museum from 2:30 - 3:30 pm September through March; April and May classes are held at the Colburn's outdoor classroom in Swannanoa from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.

Maximum class size is 20 students with the exception of the Grove Stone Quarry Trips for which the maximmum is 30 students. Minimum class size is 6 students. If there are less than 6 students signed up for any one class, the Museum reserves the right to cancel the class. In the event of cancellation parents will be notified by email or phone.

Program costs are $5.50 per child per class. Colburn Museum members and children who are signed up and paid for all nine programs receive a 50 cent discount: $5 per child per class or $45 for all 9 classes.

Prepayment is required to register. We strongly encourage you to register for all nine classes at once, which will save you both time and money by securing your child a seat in all classes at the reduced rate. Please call the Museum at 828.254.7162 for more information or to register.
