WeatherBug Delivers Live, Relevant Weather Information and Severe Weather Alerts on HP Consumer PCs

WeatherBug's Sidebar Gadget for Vista Available on HP and Compaq PCs This Fall

GERMANTOWN, MD (September 5, 2007) – WeatherBug®, the leading provider of live local weather information, announced today that the WeatherBug Vista Sidebar Gadget will be available on new consumer HP and Compaq PCs in North America.

Available in September, the WeatherBug Gadget displays severe weather alerts and the most-up-to-date, live weather conditions available from WeatherBug's proprietary network of WeatherBug Tracking Stations and weather sensors worldwide to help people plan their day and stay safe during changing weather conditions.

"This is another example of how WeatherBug continues to innovate around new technology leveraging partners, such as HP, who are established leaders in the consumer space," said Shane Lundy, vice president of product strategy for AWS Convergence Technologies Inc., owner of the WeatherBug brand. "By providing our content in the format that consumers want so that it is within arms reach, we will continue to remain the largest distributor of live, local weather information and severe weather alerts across multiple platforms worldwide."

The WeatherBug Gadget includes content such as wind direction, wind speed, and weather images from WeatherBug Tracking Stations located in neighborhoods where people work, live and play. Additionally the gadget features forecast, radar, alerts and user submitted weather photos. The gadget also links to the WeatherBug Web site, http://www.weatherbug.com, which provides consumers with the most comprehensive selections of weather content to be found on the Internet.

WeatherBug's weather information provides a level of depth and granularity that is unmatched in the industry. Aggregated from publicly available sources worldwide and combined with its key asset – a proprietary network of weather sensors – the WeatherBug Network is the largest live, local weather network in the world.

The data from this network is relied upon by millions of consumers, television broadcast partners, businesses, energy companies and federal, state and local government agencies every day. In addition, WeatherBug has formed a strong public/ private relationship with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service (NWS). As a result, weather information from the WeatherBug Network is available to the NWS at any time and to the Department of Homeland Security, when severe weather is imminent or in the unfortunate event of a terrorist attack.

The WeatherBug Gadget has proven to be extremely popular since it was launched earlier this year for the Vista Operating System. More than 900 thousand users have downloaded the WeatherBug Vista Gadget from the Windows Vista Gallery. To date, it is the most popular weather gadget and the fourth most popular gadget in the Vista Gadget library overall.
