Join the Colburn Earth Science Museum, in conjunction with Western Carolina University and the Paleon Museum of Glenrock, Wyoming for...

!!Dino Dig 2004!!

Get down and dirty this summer as you work side by side with renowned paleontologist Dr. Robert T. Bakker! Uncover Jurassic and Cretaceous fossils from the famous bone quarries at Glenrock and Como Bluff, Wyoming. This is not a tourist attraction... this is an authentic paleontological dig!

Dr. Bakker and field crew will spend three days at Glenrock, home to the Paleon Museum (where Wyoming fossils are taken to be prepared and catalogued).  Spend time in the field discovering prehistoric remains and in labs learning how to clean and prepare your findings. The last three days will be sent at the bone beds of Como Bluff, one of the most productive in the world! Famous findings include crocodiles, stegosaurus, allosaurus, megalosaurus, diplodocus, apatosaurus and more!
Each day will begin with breakfast followed by a lecture from Dr. Bakker, in his unique style.

Cost of Dino Dig 2004 is roughly $1,492.00, though the amount may change depending on air fare rates when you sign up. This includes round-trip airfare from Atlanta, as well as transportation to and from the airport to the museum and sites, room and board. The dig is scheduled from July 19th to the 26th.

Teachers! Earn up to five C.E.U credits from Western Carolina University while studying in the field with Dr. Bakker!
