Summer Camps

The Colburn Museum is looking forward to another fun filled summer at camp this year!

The Colburn Educators are working hard to develop a summer camp schedule that sure to please everyone.
Camps are for rising K-5 graders!
We will be offering full day camps, as well as half-day morning and afternoon sessions.
Our last 2 weeks of camp will be Fun Days--campers can register for individual themed days.

Each of our science camps ignite the wonder of science in children. Through various hands-on lessons, experiments, crafts, and games – we will usenatural curiosity to help kids understand the unique qualities of our Earth. Every day children will be given new opportunities to explore scientific concepts both inside our museum and outdoors in the local community.
Wet N’ Wild: (June 11-June 15) Rising Grades 2-4 Prepare to explore all things wild and wet! Every day we’ll learn new scientific concepts based on water and the wild world around us. Topics covered will include: Weather, Venice, oceanography, African animals,bubbles, world records, rivers, and more!
Rock N’ Roll: (June 18-June 22) Boys: Rising Grades 3-5 Our rock star boys will join us this week for activities and classes revolving around geology and physics. Each day will be geared toward the boy explorer as we learn about: Motion, caves, fossils, race cars, airplanes,rocks, music, volcanoes, sports, and more!
Night N’ Day: (June 25-June 29) Rising Grades 2-4 What a difference a day makes! This week is focused on the mystery of our world during the day and at nighttime. We’ll investigate: Space, rockets, senses, nocturnal life, plants, Native American mythology, and more!
Rise N’ Shine: (July 8-July 13) Girls: Rising Grades 3-5 Girls will be shining this week as we explore girl-friendly topics through science! We’ll discover the beautiful world around us through: Hot-air balloons, gemstones, food, birds, stars, music, ecology, historical female scientists and much more!
Surf N’ Turf: (July 16-July 20) Rising Grades K-1 Our youngest scientists will join us as we explore the interesting qualities of land and water. We’ll build budding scientists by learning about: Gardens, ocean animals, boats, beaches, sea mythology, lawn sports, and much more!
