Clubs

The Colburn Earth Science Museum offers variuos fun monthly after-school programs during the school year.

SCIENCE SISTERS (girls in grades 3-5)

In the Science Sisters Club, girls are encouraged to explore science through girl-friendly topics. We will explore the worlds of secret codes, music, crystals, jewelry, animals and more! Each meeting will give girls an opportunity to participate in hands-on activities and explore new scientific concepts, all while having fun with their “sisters!” At the end of each meeting, girls will be able to take home a project demonstrating their girl-powered, science knowledge.

Meeting Dates: (Third Tuesday of the Month) March 20th, April 17th, and May 15th

FINDING NEMO (grades 3-5)

Where has little Nemo ventured to now? Follow us on a journey through the many facinating parts of the ocean as we chase Nemo around the sea!

Learn about the many different zones of the ocean and the animals that live there.  Sharks, jellyfish, giant squids, whales, sea urchins, and many other creatures call the oceans home.  Venture to the abyss, coral reefs, the open ocean, and even to deep sea trenches as Nemo explores Earth's underwater world.

This club will be filled with oceanography, marine biology, activities, and crafts!  Our monthly meetings of exploring the ocean will be recorded in a journal by each club member and will be turned into a "Finding Nemo" book at the end of the year!

Meeting Dates: (3rd Thursday of the Month) March 15th, April 19th, and May 17th
